Joan Almirall

Born in Barcelona in 1968. He studied Law and Philosophy at the University of Barcelona and received a doctorate in Philosophy with a doctoral thesis on the Origin of Celestial Hierarchies. He was part of the Rosicrucian School for twenty-five years and collaborated in the creation of the Rosicrucian Library.

An inner experience at the Sri Sri Ma Anandamayi Ashram in India changed the course of his spiritual destiny, and after leaving the Rosicrucian School behind, he founded a Masonic Lodge of the Egyptian Rite and became a lecturer for the Theosophical Society.

In this new stage he took several Tantric initiations of the Unsurpassed Buddhist Yoga, exploring the Mahamudra Meditation.

The practice of classical Hatha Yoga and his knowledge of internal Alchemy led him to develop a personal technique focused on the activation of the Central Channel (Sushumna nadi) which he has called Antarbhava Yoga and which he describes in his book “Contradictions of a Western Yogi”.

He currently works as a Yoga teacher trainer at YogaOne.
